Amy has helped me to design and renovate my 605 sq ft apartment in Sheung Wang, Hong Kong in 2013. Amy was a pleasure to work with during all stages of the work process. She showed great passion and understanding of all aspects of the design process and was open to feedback from me whilst proving constructive feedback on structural and technical aspects of her work. I would choose Amy again in the future for any design related works.

I love that you created a happy, sassy flat for us in Hong Kong and then it was packed up and moved to Dublin where it was unpacked, moved around a bit to fit, and looks just as fabulous as it did in HK! We’ll never have as fabulous a sofa as the pink one that you had made for us. It really has become my signature piece. I love that you did so many friends homes, but each one is uniquely theirs, just as our home is uniquely us. It’s been a source of pleasure here in Dublin.

It was easy working with you and you helped in so many ways to sort out our flat. Not just the furnishings and accessories, but also thinking about and helping me imagine how we were going to live in this (tiny, tiny!) space in Hong Kong.

I can not say enough great things about Amy! I was moving back to NYC after living overseas for 12 years, trying to combine current pieces with new ones. Amy listened to my ideas and needs and developed them into something well beyond my dreams. She paid attention to the big picture as well as every little detail making my apartment into my very special home. I highly recommend Amy for anyone wanting a beautiful home.

My husband and I worked with Amy Spiegel when we recently moved back into the city. Although, we love the pre-war building our apartment needed a fresh touch. We were able to achieve that clean, fresh, look while maintaining the elegance of the older building by using the color choices Amy suggested. Amy was easy to work with and tried to incorporate our ideas and tastes while giving us a unique range of colors and textures. We would definitely recommend Amy Spiegel as a designer and colorist!

Amy is an exceptional interior designer. We met seven years ago when we moved to Hong Kong and a friend recommended her.

Amy designed key furniture pieces for our new industrial loft in Hong Kong including bespoke bookshelf units on wheels — each side of the bookshelf featured a different colour (burnt orange on one side and deep red on the other) so that the furniture pieces could do double duty as a room divider in a bedroom that our two daughters were sharing. Amy designed the pieces so that they could be used as a practical screen when one of the girls needed a little extra privacy but both shelf units could also be easily pushed against a wall to create extra space.

With her knowledge of Japanese fabrics, Amy transformed some of our favourite textiles into elegant window blinds. With excellent contacts in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen, she is able to advise on the best framers, furniture makers etc.

Thereafter, Amy continued to assist us with smaller bespoke designs including a wall desk that cleverly maximized a small space.

More recently, we commissioned Amy to redesign our 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom in our Hong Kong apartment. Amy spent some time discussing what our daughter was looking for before developing an anime-inspired concept that would be stylish but not date very quickly. Amy designed a low-lying Japanese-style double bed with curved sides and a headboard covered in hand-dyed indigo cotton sourced from an atelier in Kyoto, Japan. The mattress sits within the frame creating a cocoon effect. Amy also added a jute rug and ivory linen Roman window blinds to create a sanctuary that our daughter feels is a personal reflection instead of something her mother thinks she should have!

We have always found Amy to be the epitome of professionalism. She is friendly, efficient and listens carefully to what her clients are looking for. As an architecture and design writer, I meet many different talented designers and Amy is a standout in her field. We would not hesitate to recommend her.
